Dorothy Snyder Obituary

Dorothy Capell Snyder Charleston - Dorothy Capell Snyder, 93, of North Palm Beach, Florida, and Charleston, SC, widow of Wade Hampton Snyder, Jr., peacefully entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Her Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2018 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 232 Calhoun Street at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Downtown Chapel. Dottie was born January 15, 1925 in New York, New York, daughter of the late Otto Peter Capell and Louise Schlobohm Capell. She was a Retired Trust Officer. Dottie would like everyone to know that her work here on earth is done. She received an offer she couldn't refuse from her Lord and Savior. This offer came with a reunion with family, friends and pets she hasn't seen in a long time and an opportunity to be in a wonderful place where she will be dancing, gardening and reading to her hearts content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed! The food is delicious, and she will never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for her family to celebrate the completion of her mission on earth and to be happy that they have been gifted with a guarding angel for Christmas. Dottie is survived by her three daughters: Darcy Snyder Patterson (Ray), Janis Snyder Sulicz and Carol Snyder Ross (Ben); two sons: Wade Hampton Snyder III (Sue) and Mark Philip Snyder; grandchildren: Trey Nemeth, Chris Nemeth (Katie), Jordan Davenport (Nathan), Amanda Sulicz, Jason Ross (Alissa), Colby Ross, Kimberly Gazboda (Brian), Kelsey O'Malley (Ryan) and Wade Snyder, IV; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Frederick Snyder; and grandson, Hunter Capell Ross. The family would like to give special thanks to the angels on earth from Heartland Hospice; Amy Totherow, Andre Terry and Kevin Hinton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 1064 Gardner Road, Suite 204, Charleston, SC, 29407 or Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
