Dorothy Prince Richardson Awendaw, SC - Dorothy "Dot" Prince Richardson, 91, of Awendaw, South Carolina, wife of the late Marion Leonard Richardson, Jr. died Sunday, November 15, 2015. Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 17, 2015 in the Mount Pleasant Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Dot was born January 6, 1924 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Percy L. Prince, Sr.and the late Sarah "Sadie" Cameron Prince. She was a retired secretary and married to the late Marion Richardson, Jr. for 65 years. Mrs. Richardson was a long-time member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, loved bowling with her senior league at Sandpiper Bowling Lane, fishing with her late husband, and shopping with her sister, Pat, and daughter-in-law, Rhonda. She is survived by two sons, Marion Leonard "Lennie" Richardson, III of Charlotte, NC and Gary Scott Richardson and his wife, Rhonda, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and four grandchildren, Philip Richardson, Cam Richardson, Melissa Richardson and Sarah Richardson Buechele; and sister, Daisy Walsh of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by seven siblings. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Charleston, Dr. James Orcutt and Dr. Mary Decker who provided excellent care to their mother.
