Dorothy McMillian Myers Baldwin CORDOVA, SC - Dorothy "Nanny Dot" McMillan Myers Baldwin, 100, widow of C. Wilburn Myers and Alexander G. Baldwin, died Friday, September 5, 2014, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 8, 2014, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Lois Helms officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Wayne McMillan, Ronnie Hewitt, Mike McMillan, Cliff McDougal, Phil McDougal, and Lynn Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2779, Orangeburg and members of the Senior Sunday School Class of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Wesley Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cordova, SC. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. Nanny Dot was born on September 18, 1913, to the late John J. McMillan and Arrie Lee Murphy McMillan. She worked as a seamstress for Branchville Shirt Company and Orangeburg Garment Company. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2779, Orangeburg and Wesley Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived by three sons, James W. "Jim" Myers (Belinda) of Cordova, Gerald Myers (Elise) of Orangeburg, and Rick Baldwin of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Steven Pfaff (Deborah), Angie Dailey (Bryan), Robbie Myers (Tracy), Harriett Hartzog (Chip), Christie Mixon (Shannon) and Nikki Bearden (Johnny); eleven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mary Etta Hewitt, and Sylva McDougal, both of Cordova, SC; Cecelia Miljevich of Wakefiied, Michigan, Sybil DuBose of Pensacola, FL, and Jenny Lynn Myers of Charleston, SC; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Guilds McMillan, George McMillan and Robert McMillan. The family would like to thank her caregivers, Annette Hawkins, Evelyn Goodwin and Staff of Hospice Care of Tri-County for the excellent care they gave to their mother.
