Dorothy Driggers Obituary

Dorothy Driggers Hanahan - Dorothy Dora Simpson Driggers, 96, of Hanahan, SC, died Friday September 1, 2017. Her funeral services will be held Wednesday September 6, 2017 at 11 am at CAROLINA MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 am to 11 am at the funeral home. Dorothy was born September 5, 1920 in Five Forks, GA, a daughter of the late William T. Simpson and Lillie Mae Simpson. She was the widow of Arthur Thomas Driggers. She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, Hanahan, SC. She loved traveling in her younger days. Germany, The Holy Land and Saudi Arabia were a few of the places she visited. She especially loved to go to the mountains of North Carolina several times a year. Mrs. Driggers loved gardening in the Summer, sewing and ceramics were another love as well, but her greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years and one grandson, Thomas Abbott Driggers. Surviving is one daughter: Alivia Driggers Stancil, and her husband Jerry, a son: Larry Thomas Driggers and his wife Sallie, 5 grandchildren: Tracie S. Parnell (Ben), Katherine S. Martin (Brian), Christopher Stancil (Stephannie), Jacob Driggers (Isabel) and Ramey Schultz (Doug), 13 great grandchildren: Kayla Parnell, Brannon Parnell, Logan Martin, Alexander Martin, Conner Martin, Clayton Stancil, Jace Stancil, Willa Schultz, Abbott Schultz, Eva Schultz, Palmer Driggers, Corbin Driggers, Rowan Driggers and one great great grandson: Cooper Parnell. The family is grateful to White Oak for the loving care of the staff and caregivers that they gave to mother in the last months of her life.
