Dorothy S. Bennett CHARLESTON - Mrs. Dorothy S. Bennett, 79, of Charleston, SC, wife of the late Mr. John Nathaniel Bennett, entered into eternal rest Monday, February 14, 2022. Graveside services celebrating her life will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Memorial Gardens, 1981 Grimball Rd., Charleston, SC 29412. A public viewing will be held Sunday, February 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the mortuary. She is survived by her loving children: Audrey Bennett-Kent (Rodney, Sr.), Jondella T. Bennett, and Johnnie Mack (James, Jr.); grandchildren: Shateque N. Hacker, Donta McNeil (Faith), Tedra C. Brown, Clayton J. Smalls, Jr., Dominique D. Mack, Rodney A. Kent, Jr., Dominica N. Willis, James Mack III, Wendell L. Kent (Duni), Samiah A. Lafayette, and Jacoby K. Johnson; siblings: Katherine P. Pettigrew (Prince), Olive Cromwell (Virgil), and Carrie Belle Hymes; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her children: Felecia C.F. Hacker, Clayton J. Smalls, Sr., and Wendell L. Smalls; parents: Thomas and Rosa Smalls; siblings: Sarah Seymour, Thomas Smalls, Joseph Smalls, Rev. Aubrey B.
