Dorothy Clementine Jackson Anderson SEABROOK ISLAND, SC - Dorothy J. Anderson, a 25 year resident of Seabrook Island, passed away Friday, the 20th of May, 2011. Dorothy made Seabrook her home after retirement from a banking career in Miami, Florida. Dorothy Clementine Jackson was born September 26, 1919, to Mary Ballard Luper and Ernest Cooper Jackson in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. In her years in the Charleston area, Dorothy was involved in many activities and charitable organizations, and loved nature, along with the regional architecture. A soprano and graduate of the University of Akron, School of Music, Dorothy sang for many years in the Grace Episcopal Church Choir. In her memory and interest in restoring and preserving the church she loved, please make contributions to the Saving Grace Capital Campaign, 115 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC 29401. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Lisa L. Anderson, MD, of New York City. Dorothy's beloved husband, Gordon Martin (Scotty) Anderson, preceded her in death. A cryptside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Grace Episcopal Church (98 Wentworth Street, Charleston) in the Garden of Remembrance at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by J. My heart goes out to you on the death of your mother. I know what you are going through. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by all who knew her.
