Dorothea Loadholt Obituary

LOADHOLT, Dorothea Dorothea Pauline Boyd Loadholt, 93, wife of the late N. Brunson Loadholt, Jr, formerly of Fairfax, South Carolina died at home in Mt. Pleasant, SC, on Sunday, December 2, 2007. The relatives and friends of Dorothea Loadholt are invited to attend her graveside service on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, South Carolina at 11:00 o'clock. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. Dorothea was born on September 2, 1914 in Greenwood, South Carolina, daughter of the late Claude D. Boyd and Pauline Furqueron Boyd. She grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from Lander College in 1936 and lived in Fairfax for many years and taught in the Allendale County School System. She moved to Watkinsville, Georgia after retiring and lived there until two years ago. She is survived by her son, Boyd Loadholt and his wife, Liz, of Mt, Pleasant, SC and daughter, Patsy Snipes and her husband, Larry, of Watkinsville, GA, grandchildren, Brunson and Ana Loadholt of Lake City, SC, Polly and Richard Moore of Isle of Palms, SC, Liza and Art Valero of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Claude Loadholt of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Earl and Jennifer Snipes of Watkinsville, GA, Wesley and Traci Snipes of Watkinsville, GA and Lauren and Chris Magaldi of Mt. Pleasant, SC, sixteen great grandchildren and her close friend Virginia Horry. She was preceded in death by a son, N. B. Loadholt, III and brothers, Claude Boyd and Arthur Boyd. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the John De La Howe School, 192 Gettys Road, McCormick, SC 29835 or the Fairfax Cemetery Association, First Baptist Church, Drawer 820, Fairfax, SC 29827.
