Doris Pooser Obituary

POOSER, Doris Mae Doris Mae Pooser, 79, widow of the late J. Herman Pooser, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 22, 2007. The relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at three o' clock, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel. Interment, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel on Thursday, December 27, 2007 from12:30 PM until 2:30 PM. Mrs. Pooser was born December 18, 1928 in Aliquippa, PA, daughter of Ernest B. Tollison and Carolyn Owens Tollison. Mrs. Pooser was a Past President and Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Charleston Rifle Club. She was a member since 1967. Mrs. Pooser was also a Past President of the Dis-staff Ladies of the Shrine Temple, a volunteer at East Cooper Hospital for over five years and was a VPA. She also served on the VPA board. She did volunteer work for the American Red Cross, a Member of the Eastern Star Chapter Alhambra #60 for many years, a member of the First Baptist Church for over 45 years, a Past Member of the Doe's of the Elks and a Past Member of the Ladies of the Nile of the Elks Club. Mrs. Pooser taught the Sunbeams in her church and also sang in the church choir. She loved her church and her family very much. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard W. Haynes Jr. and her sister, Edna T. Cox. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Maria Rogers and her husband George of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Linda McGee and her husband Jerry of Lithia, FL; Twin sister, Betty Teague of Hanahan, SC; one brother Bruce Tollison and his wife, Annelle of Mayesville, GA, Four Granddaughters, Angela Katell, Teresa Ibrahim and her husband, Greg, Rachel Powledge and her husband, Luke, and Paula Pooser Fennell; and two Great-grandchildren Brandon and Kayla Brashiers. Flowers will be accepted or a memorial contribution may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, 681 McCants Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
