Doris Elizabeth Middleton CHARLESTON - Doris Elizabeth Middleton, 93, widow of Joe H. Middleton and retiree of the Post and Courier in Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest Monday, July 04, 2022. The relatives and friends of Doris Elizabeth Middleton are invited to attend her Funeral Service 12:00 PM Thursday, July 7, 2022 from the chapel of the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Highway. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Park on Azalea Drive. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Doris was born in Holly Hill, SC January 28, 1929, a daughter of the late Lillian Way and John C. Lunan. She graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC and Wilmington Junior College. She was a resident of Charleston for over 50 years and a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was active in the PTA and was a Girl Scout leader until she began to work full-time. Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. Mrs. Middleton is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth 'Beth' Lloyd and her husband Raymond; a son, Todd Middleton and his wife Renee; seven grandchildren: Jennifer Griswell, Edward 'Teddy' Lloyd, Ansley Lloyd, Raymond Lloyd, Jr., Todd Middleton, Jr., Emily Middleton, and Madelyn Middleton; a great-granddaughter, Frankie Griswell; her brother, David Lunan and his wife, Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, her son, David Joseph (Jody) Middleton, her sisters, Jackie LeMoyne and Patricia Freeman, and her brother, Bert Lunan. Arrangements by James A.
