Doris McDaniel Obituary

Doris McDaniel Charleston - Doris Vereen McDaniel, 87, of Charleston, South Carolina, went home to be with her Savior on December 5, 2018. She was born on June 28, 1931 in Wampee, South Carolina, the daughter of Laureta Jones and Ruthel Vereen. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband, Emory McDaniel; Brothers, Ruthel Vereen, Jr., Max Vereen and sisters, Tina Livingston and Catherine Spivey. She is survived by her daughters, D.Ann Coffey (Mike), and Emmie McDaniel; grandson Todd McIver, Jr. and great- granddaughter Katie Goodwin of Charleston, South Carolina and one brother, Franke Vereen (Linda) of Wampee, South Carolina. Mom's love of children, lead to a forty year career as a kindergarten teacher, where the children lovingly called her, Miss Doris. She loved the beach, dancing, gardening and was an avid walker. The family wishes to acknowledge Diane, Gloria, Brenda, and Jakki for their care, love, and support during her illness. A graveside service will be held December 7, at 10 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 604 Ft. Johnson Road, James Island, SC, 29412.
