Doris Marion Obituary

Doris Hayworth Marion MONCKS CORNER - Doris Hayworth Marion, 86, of Moncks Corner, SC, former co-owner and operator of the Moncks Corner Upholstery Shop, died Monday evening in a local nursing home. Her funeral will be 1:00 PM Saturday afternoon, October 27, 2012, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Entombment will follow in Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Palmetto Chapter, PO Box 7044, Columbia, SC 29202, or to the First Christian Church, 1504 Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Marion was born February 13, 1926, in High Point, NC, a daughter of Perry Franklin Hayworth and Mary Wyre Hayworth. She enjoyed working in her yard, camping, cooking, going to the beach, and fishing, but most of all, she loved caring for her family. Mrs. Marion was a member of the First Christian Church of Moncks Corner, and she was the widow of Garland Marion. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy M. Metts, and a son, Jerry L. Marion. Surviving are, a daughter, June M. Goertzen and her husband, Michael, of Moncks Corner; six grandchildren, William L. Metts, Franklin E. Metts, Tammy L. Morgan, Joy A. Thibaudeau, Christopher G. Goertzen, and Shannon M. Goertzen; eleven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
