Doris DeVault Obituary

DeVAULT, Doris HEMINGWAY - Doris Fenters DeVAult, 76, died Tuesday morning at her residence after an illness. Mrs. DeVault was born in Georgetown; a daughter of the late Gilbert Thomas and Bertha "Bonnie" Bon Moore Fenters. She was a retired AT&T operator and a member of Hemingway First Baptist Church. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony W. "Tony" and Betsy DeVault of Hemingway; three sisters, Lillian Joye of Hemingway, Mary Calcutt of Florence, and Golder Snyder of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters-in-law, Sug Fenters of Mullins and Marion Fenters of Lake City; and a large number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Mrs. DeVault was preceded in death by two brothers, Gilbert "Shaggy" Fenters and Lloyd "Tubba" Fenters; and a sister, Jessie Wood. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Hemingway First Baptist Church with interment following in Garden of Devotion Cemetery, directed by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2591 N. Fraser Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. So sorry to hear of your loss. Dee was a bright spot in our day at the "phone company"! Most of us would come in to work and know it was going to be a good day because Dee was "in charge". We felt a loss when Dee retired (oh, so much more today). Sincere sympathy to all her family and friends. May God bless you and hold you in the palm of His hand.
