AYER -- Doris Ann (Peck) Broderick, 69, of 49A Pearl St., died Wednesday, March 31, at home after an illness.
She was born in Groton on Jan. 18, 1935, the daughter of Albert H. and Esther C. (Dolphin) Peck. She graduated from Ayer High School in 1953.
Mrs. Broderick was employed for more than 15 years as a program clerk at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bedford. She was a member of the National Association of Government employees. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a bowler and softball player for the Bedford Employees Association.
Mrs. Broderick leaves two sons, Lawrence F. Broderick III of Westminster and Kevin M. Broderick of Ashburnham; one daughter, Cynthia R. Broderick of Ayer; three sisters, Marion E. Odgers of Birmingham, Ala., Nancy L. Skaletsky of North Kingstown, R.I. and Esther M. Peck of Sun City, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Meagan Broderick and Michael Broderick, both of Leominster, and Zachary Broderick and Shannon Broderick, both of Ashburnham. Her son, Brian A. Broderick, died on Feb. 6, 2000, and her sister, Ruth H. Fortune, also predeceased her.
BRODERICK -- On Wednesday, March 31, Doris Ann (Peck) Broderick, 69, of Ayer. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, April 3, at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 31 Shirley Road, Ayer. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours in Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., Fitchburg, are Friday, April 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to Children’s Hospital, 300 Longwood Ave., Boston, MA 02115.
