Dora Willie Mae Fur Crosby BAMBERG - Dora Willie Mae Fur Crosby, 87, of 157 Azalea Ave., Bamberg, S.C. 29003, wife of the late Fletcher Dukes Crosby, passed away, Sunday, September 6, 2009, in UniHealth Post Acute Care of Bamberg. Mrs. Crosby was the daughter of the late William Fur and the late Sarah Towry. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bamberg, S.C. She retired from The Corner Factory Outlet, Bamberg, SC. She loved to play Bridge and Canasta. She served as past president of the Bamberg Bridge Club. She also taught first grade Sunday school and loved her church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., in the First Baptist Church of Bamberg, with the burial to follow in Bamberg County Memory Gardens, Bamberg, SC, officiated by Rev. Aubry Floyd. Assisting, Rev. Robert Windburn and Rick McCollum, Minister of Music of Springfield Baptist Church, Columbia, S.C. Survivors include one daughter, Sarah Phyllis Crosby Sinkler, of Charleston, SC; three grandchildren, Katy Lowndes Sinkler, of James Island, SC, William Lowndes Sinkler, of Charleston, SC, and Thomas Fletcher Sinkler, of Charleston, SC. She was predeceased by a son, Fletcher Dukes Crosby, Jr. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Cooner Funeral Home, Bamberg, SC. The family will receive friends at the home on 157 Azalea Ave., Bamberg, SC. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 355, Bamberg, SC 29003.
