Donya Demel Obituary

ODESSA Donya D'Ann Demel, 55, of Odessa Texas, went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ on Christmas Eve morning with her family by her side.
Donya was born on April 4, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas. She was raised in Levelland, Texas and was a hairdresser there before moving to Odessa in 1996 where she continued doing hair until she retired last year after 38 years. Donya was a member of Mid Cities Church in Midland/Odessa where she was active in several leadership and mentor ministries and she served on the board of directors at the Odessa Permian Playhouse. Donya was passionate about spending time with her husband and daughter, and the rest of her family. She cherished all her wonderful friends and "soul sisters" who have shown her so much love and support.
Donya is survived by her husband of 29 years, Kevin Demel, their daughter Danci Demel of Ft Worth, her mother Diana Crittenden of Lubbock, brother Butch Crittenden and his wife Peggy of Lubbock, sister Lyda Grawn and her partner Jeff of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her father-in-law Harvey Demel and his wife LaDonna of Decatur, Texas. Donya was recently preceded in death by her father Billy Crittenden, as well as her mother in-law Jean Anders, and her aunt Jean Crittenden.
Friends and family are invited to a viewing at Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2-4pm. A celebration of life will take place at Mid Cities Church in Midland/Odessa Monday morning at 10:00AM with a graveside service to follow at 3pm at Resthaven cemetery in Lubbock.
