Donnell Blewer Obituary

Donnell Blewer GOOSE CREEK - Donnell Virgil Blewer, age 84, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. Donnell was born in St. George, SC to Virgil and Daisey Hill Blewer. Donnell is survived by his children, Michael Blewer and Denise Blewer (Darcie); his grandchildren, Ashley Turner (Chad), Austin Blewer (Rachael), Amber Galumbus (Nick); and his great-grandchildren, Kami, Caleb, Alexander, Zoey, and Carson. In addition to his parents, Donnell is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Blewer and his brothers, Larry, Ronnie, and Gary Blewer. Donnell wanted to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1957. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in the Reserve of that branch until 1993. While in the Reserve, he also worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retired from there. Donnell was a man of many talents and in his free time he liked to kayak, bike, paint, woodwork, and make military models, among many other things. More than anything, he enjoyed being with his family. Donnell will be greatly missed and forever loved by those who knew him. A visitation for Donnell will take place at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 1:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm.
