Ronald Lester Daggett, age 86 passed away at his residence in Rio Dell, on January 16,2004. He was born in Scotia, California where he attended local schools and graduated from Maranda High School in 1935.
He was a woodsman prior to and after he served in the military. During World War ll he inlisted in the US Air Force where he flew B-25s. He was honorable discharged in 1946. He was later called back to the Air Force for three years during the Korean War.
He was a Humboldt county resident for the past 40 years. He worked for Eel River Sawmill as a front loader for over 25 yrs.
He is survived by his wife of 24 yrs, Mary Frances Daggett of Rio Dell; two nephews, James C. Daggett of Keni, Alaska and Lawrence Daggett of Rio Dell.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Kenneth and Marion "Babe" Daggett.
At his request there will be no services. A private inurnment will take place at Ocean View Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Ferns, Cooper mortuary in Eureka.
