Donna Alexander Obituary

Donna Lee Alexander 1933-2014. Donna Lee Alexander died September 10, 2014. She was born in September, 1933, in Berkley, Mich. Daughter of much loved Paul and Bertha Treadaway. Donna was a part time resident of Cayucos. She says she has had a perfect life. She accomplished more than she ever dreamed. She loved her family, loved games, a brilliant Silver Life Master bridge player, she remembers having loved cinnamon pull-a-parts, loved camping and water skiing. Donna was an avid reader, a runner, walked every morning until the end, travelled on 6 continents, many times in Europe. Donna smoked from age 17, proudly quit cold turkey at 41. Retired in 2001 after 28 years at Grumman Aerospace, Point Mugu, Calif.. Struck with cancer of the jaw and throat at 71, just after her last water skiing trip. Her much appreciated medical specialists said it took remarkable courage to survive 10 years with her conditions which included surviving pneumonia 8 times, eating only mild liquids for 7 years, and nothing by mouth for the last 3 years. Rest in deserved painless peace, your husband of 62 years, Maitland. Survived by sister Janet Girdwood of Berkley, Mich.; daughters Judy (Bart) Richards, Cathy (Jim) Stanton, Robin (Arnie) Fielding; grandsons: Jimmy (Melanie] Stueve, Cameron (Yesi) Richards, Scott and Robert Fielding, granddaughters: Christy (Tim) Farris, Roxy (Larry) Konis, Shari (Darrell) Dicks and Diana Fielding. I am so grateful for having known Donna and the Alexander family. I have such wonderful memories of family water skiing vacations and Donna's ham sandwiches.
