Dear cousin, though we never saw each other during our adult years, I often think about the summers we spent on the farm. I remember you sitting at the window sill for hours at a time. Using it as your keyboard and you played an imaginary piano and belted out church hymns.
I remember our playing at the barn and going to vacation Bible school at the church on the other side of the corn field.
I was so young in those days and I wish life had kept us together. But we will see each other again someday.
God bless you Donald Ray.

Don was a leader in the financial aid world ... he preferred to stay out of the spot light but his ability to quickly discern tedious matters served the financial aid office team at CofC, as well as thousands upon thousands of students over the years, to be served in the best manner possible. My prayers to family and loved ones.

Don was dedicated to helping college students find a way to complete their degrees. He was a valued member of the Enrollment Management Team at the College of Charleston for over 30 years. Don was a friend and colleague who was always ready to support others. During any discussion Don could be counted on to know the facts and maintain the integrity of the institution. He was a role model and hero. Rest in peace.

Offering my deepest condolences to your family, Dr. Don. We´ve only been your neighbors for a short time, but hearing you play your piano during the evenings has been one of my favorite things about living here. You´ll be truly missed. May you Rest In Peace!

Don, I´m going to miss being your neighbor. I´ll miss all of our talks and all the projects you and I did together. You were certainly a true friend and were more like family to us. Liam is already missing you like crazy.
