Don Almond Obituary

Don Almond Ladson - Don Newell Almond, 84, of Ladson, SC, passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Lowcountry Community Hospice House, 374 Myers Road, Summerville, SC 29486. Newell was born in Stanly County, NC, the son of the late Marvin and Viola Almond. He worked in water and sewer pipeline construction, and loved hunting and fishing. Newell leaves behind his sons, Kenneth Almond and Mitchell Almond; daughters-in-law, April Almond and Sherry Ward, all of Summerville, SC; sister-in-law, Pam Tarlton of Mooresville, NC; mother-in-law, Aline Tarlton of Oakboro, NC; three grandchildren, Kelsey Chase and husband, Will, Cameron Almond, and JR Almond; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Chase and Kensley Chase. In addition to his parents, Marvin and Viola Almond, he is predeceased by his wife, Patricia Tarlton Almond; and his father-in-law, Wilson Tarlton.
