Dolly Igou Obituary

Dolly Igou Dorchester, SC - Meme died peacefully Wednesday December 28, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was dearly loved by all and most adored by her grands, and great-grands. She will be forever missed. Dolly Clayton Igou, 86, widow of John Dewitt Igou of 348 Schoolhouse Road, Dorchester and born February 16, 1930 a daughter of Hampton and Mamie Viola Traxler Clayton. She was retired employee of Carolina Girlswear in St. George and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was predeceased by a sister; Ruby Clayton Hilton. Surviving: a son, Gerald D. (Judy) Igou Sr., Dorchester; daughters, Beverly Walters (Doug) Hardee, Goose Creek, Lynn Igou Day, Dorchester; grandchildren, Kristi H. (Steve) Talbott, Gerald D. (Jody) Igou, Jr., Kevin J. (Nikki) Igou, Nikki L. Day; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kayden, Waylon, Hank, Madison, Allie and Rylee. Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Friday December 30, 2016 in the Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Brewer and Jay Glasgow officiating. Burial will follow in the Dorchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gerald Igou, Jr., Kevin Igou, Donnie Ayer, Steve Walker, Terry Thrower, and Billy Hilton. The Family will receive friends at the church starting at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, 129 Salem Road, Dorchester, SC 29437.
