She continued attending athletic events as David and Daniel both have become coaches themselves. She loved going to Chicago to visit Doug and Jessica and was always interested in what was going on in the news in Chicago and would watch the ABC news on the computer on a daily basis. One of her most memoriable accomplishments was being awarded a 2002 Honorary Alumnus Award for her contributions to BGSU through the years. This was truly the highlight of her career.
She enjoyed her life and most important to her were Duane, her children, and her grandchildren. Together she and Duane enjoyed traveling to Florida every winter where they spent much of their time in the Orlando area Disney Vacation Club Resorts. She was an avid Disney fan and loved spending time there. They also enjoyed taking many cruises (mostly Disney) throughout their retirement.
Diane and Duane were very active in Waterside, a retirement community in Monclova Township that they moved to in 2011. They enjoyed biking the trails, playing pickle ball and meeting new friends throughout the years.
