Diane Mathews Hutchinson Mt. Pleasant - Diane Mathews Hutchinson, 54, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, died Sunday, February 11, 2018. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 in the Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive at 10:00 am. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road on Thursday, February 15, 2018 5:00 until 7:00 pm. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm. Diane was born January 14, 1964 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of Andrew Leroy Hutchinson, Jr. and the late Marthann Mathews Hutchinson. She graduated from Winthrop College and was awarded the title of Miss Winthrop her senior year. She was also crowned Mrs. South Carolina in 1989. Diane worked as a sales manager in the retail industry and also as a construction loan officer for a local bank. She is survived by her two daughters, Brianna Elise Blanchard and Ali Hutchinson Blanchard, both of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her father, Andrew (Al) Hutchinson, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her sister, Kathryn H. Disher and her husband, Barry M. Wilson of Awendaw, SC and her nephew, Thomas P. Disher, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marthann Mathews Hutchinson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1149 Russell Drive, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, The Citadel Foundation, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409-6230 or The Avian Conservation Center (The Center for Birds of Prey), P. O. Box 1247, Charleston, SC 29402. To the family,

Sadly, I just learned of Diane's passing today. She was my manager years ago at Victoria's Secret in Charleston Place. I remember her as always kind and she had a great sense of humor. We had lost touch over the years unfortunately just due to the way life moves in a busy direction. Please accept my thoughts and prayers for your family.

I wanted to reach out to your family and express my sadness upon hearing of Diane's passing. I only knew Diane for a year or two as a Delta Zeta sorority sister at Winthrop. She had such a sweet smile and a positive spirit that touched us all. Please know I will be praying for peace and comfort as your family continues through this difficult time.
