You were gone way to soon my friend.
But I will see you in the end.
I see you now with your rod in hand.
Trying to catch that big one if you can.
You know we all miss you down here.
But we'll see you soon-have no fear.
Meanwhile with you back up at the lake.
Try to save me one-for heaven's sake.
You had a good life-saving all of mankind.
Now have a better life in all that you find.
We all think about you-Patricia I'm sure.
See you soon my friend that you can assure.
We love you and miss you.

To my dear friend Dewey. You were my father figure when I lost my dad many years ago. My fishing buddy and mentor for all the days and years to keep me going. And my co-worker at the clinic. I will miss all those conversations we had in my office back in RMO. I hope and pray that you will rest easy and get to fish every day up there in heaven. My heart goes out to your family because I know they are truly missing you. Till I see you again, keep a tight line my friend. Clay

Dewey was always and I mean always so full of life when he would come across the street to visit my mom, Mae, when he was in Macon. I'm sure he has found her in heaven to visit her.

Grew up with Dewey, a good ball player no matter what the sport, him, his brother Larry, Gary Hall, Charles Strickland, the whole crew. Good times, that will never be forgotten, when we were young. Go long and Peace go with you.

We at Shoney's of Summerville were devastated to hear of Dewey's passing. He was a great customer, a pleasure to talk to & always upbeat. Even when he got sick he never had a bad word to say or showed any anger over his circumstances. He will be missed by all of us that knew him.

Dewey was loved by all of us and will be missed. My mom had a visit from him just about 2 weeks ago when he was in Macon. He always visited her when he came to Macon. He called her mom and she always said he was her third son. Dewey always brought joy to everyone he came in contact with. He was like a brother to me. He will always be in our hearts. We are so sory for the families loss. May he rest in peace. The Jeannette Carter family in Macon loves Dewey and will miss him deeply.

Condolences to Dewey's family and friends. He's my blue eyed soul brother and a great friend. I caught my first largemouth bass with in the sandpits. We blocked and chocked a few together(airplanes). May you forever rest in peace. Melvin Vinson

Dewey was the best housemate, friend, confidant, and motivator I've ever known. His smile was always full of mischief and he had some of the funniest stories to tell. Dewey never knew a stranger and was the first to offer a helping hand. I learned so much from him. The lakes are missing a fine fisherman but heaven has gained a good soul. He always said when his time came he would be ready. The problem is none of us were. Good bye to my dear friend. I'll love you forever. Xo

Dewey always had a way of making folks laugh no matter what the situation. The 315th Airlift Wing used his C-141 aircraft (7016) in 1986 to take to the VOLANT RODEO competition. The aircraft walked away with numerous awards in large part to how Dewey maintained his jet. Rest well, Dewey....see you on the other side...pulling chocks.

A dear friend as a child and teenager, a great cousin,, we both joined the US AIr Force and our paths went in seperate directions. He will be missed and remembered for the many good times we enjoyed playing football, swimming and roller skateing....but that was then, for now we will look forward to seeing him in a much better place than any of us know today.
