Dewey Hobson Scruggs, Jr. N. Fort Myers, FL - Dewey Hobson Scruggs, Jr., 84, of North Fort Myers, Florida, husband of the late Margene Warhurst Scruggs, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 17, 2022. His funeral service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Rd., at 3:00 pm, where the family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment with military honors to immediately follow at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Rd. Dewey was born May 16, 1938 in Evergreen, Alabama, son of the late Dewey Hobson Scruggs and Ruby Powell Scruggs. Dewey retired as a Technical Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of Viet Nam. He is survived by his children, Syleria Ann Ruth and her husband, Glenn of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Rodney Wayne Scruggs of Ft. Myers, FL; siblings, Floyd Scruggs, Sally Mae Chapman, and Susie Heiney all of Pensacola, FL; three grandchildren, Maclane Shelton and her husband, David, Housten Ruth, and Madison Parris and her husband Sam; and three great-grandchildren, Emerson Jane Parris, Hazel Rose Parris, and Ivy Glenn Parris. He is preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Margene Scruggs. A memorial message may be sent to the family by visiting our website at www.jhenrystuhr.com.
