Deryle worked in management at Publix for over 20 years. He enjoyed telling corny jokes and had a hearty laugh. He liked to play practical jokes on his friends and family. He had a very keen memory. He had a photographic memory for many subjects and able to quote facts and statistics. He especially loved music history from his growing up era, the 50s thru 80s. He followed all bands and could recite band members' names, names of the albums, and other projects. His hobbies included collecting baseball cards and vinyls. He loved watching the Jeopardy Show. He also had an uncanny way of interjecting sarcasm into any situation. He loved his argyle socks, the flashier and more obnoxious the better. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golfing. He was actively involved in Turner Ministry (perinatal infant loss support group) at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Summerville, SC. He went on several Men's Retreats at Cathedral of Praise in North Charleston and volunteered on the Landscaping Committee at Stallsville United Methodist Church in Summerville, SC. Deryle is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Perry, and daughter, LoriAnne Coley of Burlington, NC; step-daughter, Karen Robinson of Mt. Pleasant (spouse, Russell); and two step-sons, David Ray (spouse, Vicki) of Goose Creek, SC and Robbie Ray (spouse, Ashley) from Greenville, SC; and fourteen grandchildren, Samantha Keller, Michael Perry, Kelsey Harrell, Alexandria Gardner, Hunter Gardner, Taylor Benson, Riley Benson, Madison Benson, Sullivan Benson, Tristan Ray, Jordan Ray, Jackson Ray, Caroline Ray, and Catherine Ray. He also is survived by three great-grandchildren, Rylee Keller, Stefan Perry, and Elijah Perry. Also, sister, Jallene Dixon of Dothan, AL (spouse, Giles); half-sister, Loretta Alexander of Emerald Isle, NC; half-brother, Ed Perry of Bayboro, NC (spouse, Marie); nephew, Jeremy Dixon (spouse, Katie); and niece Mackenzie Dixon Thomley (spouse, Justin); and three great-nieces, Frances Dixon, Molly Dixon, Emery Dixon; and two great-nephews, Roan Thomley, and Giles Thomley.
