FISHBEIN 1946 ~ 2025
On October 6, 2025, Howard Clifton Fishbein, a devoted father and grandfather, died in hospital at the age of 78.
Howard was born on December 19, 1946, to Charles and Bernice Fishbein in Port Arthur Ontario, now known as Thunder Bay. Howard was the quiet middle child of three siblings (older sister Sharon and younger sister Charlene). He loved using his hands from an early age - he could fix anything he set his mind to. Howard spent his early life working in radio and TV repair, bringing his love of technology and computers to the family household and passing that love onto his children. Howard then drove a school bus for a time from there transitioning into driving for Greyhound Bus Lines. He worked for Greyhound for 30 years driving routes into and out of Thunder Bay.
In the late 1970s he met the love of his life, Rhonda Lewis, and would go on to marry her on October 6th 1980. She had an immediate massive positive impact on his lifestyle in a variety of ways, and together they raised two sons, Trevor and Travis. He was a great source of logic, wisdom, and humour to everyone that knew him. To that end he would offer help to anyone who asked (especially his future grandchildren).
Howard faced many health complications throughout his life, fortunately for him he had a loving wife who also happened to be an accomplished Registered Nurse. He had open heart bypass surgery in the late 1990s, he was diagnosed with and beat lymphoma cancer in the early 2000s, then the onset of Type 2 diabetes in the 2010s. But Howard was a fighter and a survivor, and with the support of his family he faced these challenges one by one and defeated them.
Howard died on what would have been his 45th wedding anniversary, perhaps symbolic of him wanting to be reunited with his wife. He will be remembered and loved by his family and those who knew him best.
Howard was predeceased by his wife Rhonda, and his parents Charles and Bernice. He is survived by his two sons Trevor(Becky) and Travis(Jacquie); grandchildren Tyler and Mikayla; his siblings Charlene(Gerry) and Sharon; along with nieces/nephews Ivan, Katrina, Kerry, and Dale.
As per his final wishes he will be cremated and reunited with his loving wife Rhonda in eternity.
