Delores Green Obituary

Delores "Dodi" Craven Green CHARLESTON - Delores "Dodi" Craven Green, 79, of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Robert Gerald "Jerry" Green, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel. Dodi was born July 9, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, daughter of the late Dewey Lee Craven and Myrtle Mizzell Craven. Dodi and her family lived in some of the most interesting and far away places: Chronologically, SC to San Bernardino, CA, to Tokyo, Japan; then the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, CO. While at the USAFA, she attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Then they moved to Europe-Garmisch, Germany, and Madrid, Spain. After Europe, she lived and worked in Bermuda. Dodi then returned to the U.S. and completed her career in Washington, DC, as a Computer Systems Analyst with the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Department of Homeland Security. After retiring, she immediately returned to Charleston, SC, to be near her one and only granddaughter, Allison, who was 3 years old at the time. Dodi was quite the social butterfly in years past and would light up any room. She hosted some of the best parties around and had a knack for orchestrating everything for a successful and fun-filled evening. She would play the best party music that had everyone dancing. She always had the most interesting and diverse guests from her military community, as well as commercial pilots, flight attendants, teachers and local business leaders. Dodi's parties were memorable events that everyone wanted to attend. As a retiree and grandmother, Dodi switched gears and filled her most cherished role as her granddaughter's "Bubbie" as she was affectionately called by Allison. She also loved and cared for animals and volunteered many years with animal rescue organizations where she lived. She loved walking her beloved dogs through the years as long as she was able. In addition to her husband, Dodi is survived by her son, Robert Gerald Green, II; granddaughter, Allison Taylor Green; brother, H. James Craven (Darah); sister-in-law, Nancy Whaley-Austin; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Memorial donations can be made in Dodi's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
