Debra Scott Obituary

SCOTT, Debra Debra Jean "Debi" Bennett Scott, 52, of Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at her residence. Debi was born in Bainbridge, MD, a daughter of David William Bennett, Sr. and Nell Mary France Bennett on Wednesday, November 18, 1953. She was a graduate of Middleton High School Class of 1971 and the Medical University School of Nursing Class of 1974. Debi was a home health nurse with Health Force. She was an accomplished equestrian, who loved to travel. Debi enjoyed reading, listening to Jimmy Buffet's music whether it was on the beach, a boat or just relaxing at home. A special thanks to many relatives and friends, especially Gail Jarvis, Janice Murray, Joetta Major, her sister-in-laws, Robin Simpson Bennett, Debbie McMullin and to all the nurses and aides at the Hospice of Charleston. Debi is survived by her son, Michael Patrick Newman of Portland, OR; a son, Ryan Russell Jarvis of Charleston; a daughter, Kaitlin Christine Jarvis of Charleston; a son, Christian Robert Jarvis of Charleston; a brother, David William Bennett of Columbia, KY; a sister, Gloria Louise Hennessy of Louisville, KY; a brother, Russell Patrick Bennett of Charleston and her granddaughter, Aydan Christine Jarvis of Charleston. The family will be receiving friends at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy. from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2006. The relatives and friends of Debra Jean Bennett Thomas are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon, Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will be held privately. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Charleston, Inc., 3870 Leeds Ave., Suite 101 North Charleston, SC 29405.
