While living in Summerville she was active in The Summerville YMCA, volunteered at Summerville Medical Center in the nutrition department and an active member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church. Prior to her move to SC she was active member in her church and community while owning and running "The Academy" Bed and Breakfast in Centreville, MD. Although Debbie moved from Annapolis to South Carolina many years ago, I still considered her a close friend...we understood each other, coming from the New England area. She was a wonderful mother and Heather and Laura shine now because of Debbie's influence. May all the fond memories of time spent together...especially the trip to Paris....sustain you at this time. Love, Linda

I always looked forward to chatting with Debbie during the brief time she sat with us at the SMC Volunteer lunch table. She had a calm, pleasant demeanor that reflected her inner strength and goodness, and she is sorely missed.

My condolences to Deborah's family and friends. Although I didn't know Deborah that well, she and I enjoyed chatting every Tuesday at SMC, where she and I volunteered. Had a few laughs comparing our medical experiences and discussing Annapolis and Sandy Point. Deborah will be missed. RIP.

Although we have never met, I wanted to reach out to you all. I came to know your mother & grandmother, through Carol Jones' exercise-dance class. It was Debbie, who graciously made room for me within her back corner, "dance territory"; and encouraged me to become a regular member of the group. We eventually began to make some time before and/or after class, to engage in some mutual family-centered bragging sessions. Of course we also talked about the gardens and never ending yard work too. It impressed me when she talked about her volunteer work at the hospital. And then there were the conversations about the things we liked to read. We also shared countless funny moments until I eventually trained my feet to get in sync with the rest of the class. I send you my deepest sympathies. She was a remarkable woman and a treasure.

I was so sad when I got the news that your mom had died. She was a wonderfully funny and delightful woman. When I worked at SPC she volunteered in the office. My name is Ruby but she affectionately called me Ruby Rita. I always looked forward to seeing her because she always made us laugh. She loved you all so much and was so proud of you. She will be greatly missed by us all. You are all in our prayers.
