De'Von Jenkins Obituary

My nephew you're missed but not forgotten.

My heart goes out to the family. This was such a tragic loss. He meant the world to me. I will always love you De'Von.

Theres no words that can full this void that has been left by this tragedy. I can only say to Michele and her husband James, and John and Dan, Jada his true Love whom he told me he was going to marry this year, and all those touch by this to keep all the wonderful memories of him in our hearts and minds. De'Von was a wonderful person and he lived a wonderful life always wanting to make everyone smile. He brought joy to everyone he touched. I pray that God will continue to bless and strengthen everyone as they grieve and remember all the good things he brought to our lives. De'Von will be missed by Me, Karen, his auntie, and his cousins Bre'Aunna, Shanekqa, Courtney and Taivonna. Michele sis you know I Love you and I got your back anytime you need me, no matter what. De'Von Loved and respected both you and and his dad and no one, no one can take that away from you all. He is truly and Angel taken from us early, his work was done and done well. I MISS YOU BOY. THATS OUR HANDSOME BOY.

To my brother, John, Michele and the entire family of Devon, Dan and Jade,

If my nephew could have seen all who were in attendance at his wake and funeral, I must say he would have been pleased. You both raised a fine young man who was on his way to bigger and better things, but God saw it fit to bring him home from the field of labor. May God continue to strengthen both of you in the days ahead. It pains me as well to see him go, but what can we do about God's plan for us? We certainly will miss his laughter, his humor and his gift to make others laugh and smile. Let us continue to keep God first and everything will be alright. To the rest of the families, let's continue to keep John and Michele in our prayer on the loss of their only son. Let's rally around them with love and care and pray that God ease their pain softly and quickly. Thanks to all who supported us during Devon's passing with your love, your visits, your cards, your flowers, your contributions, etc., but most of all your prayers. Please continue to keep Devon's entire family in your prayers as our broken hearts begin to heal. Dan, thank you so much for all you did for my nephew. He loved you very much and I know your pain is just as great as ours. Jade, you were the apple of his eye. Thanks for being a part of his life. You made him happy. Words can't express but I can only try to say what I hope you will find comforting. My prayers are with you. I offer whatever services that you need of me. Just remember that God cares for you and He is there for you in this time of sadness and hurt. Today, there is only a void; an unbelief that this has happened to you. There are questions and there are doubts. Soon, there will be understanding and the memories of a life that belonged to a young man that you loved so dearly and will continue to love beyond the grave. Walk with the Father and allow Him to minister to you. Talk with the Father and allow his love to comfort you. Lean on the Father and allow Him to carry you until you can find the strength to stand on your own. But never let go of Him because He will never leave you or forsake you. And if by chance you need a little extra, I'll be there for you both.

To John and Family....I send my prayers for peace and comfort during this time of sorrow. Please note, God doesn't make mistakes and De'Von has fulfilled his duties on this side. Your time on this side was too short for us, but we know that your Grandparents and Uncles are on the other side to greet you with open arms and to help you watch over those of us are left to cherish your memory. Words cannot even explain the heart felt tradegy that has encamped around us all. We are still trying to pick up the pieces to our heart as it shattered from hearing this disturbing news. Not once will we ever slap God in the face or even question him as to why this happened. As firm believers in God we know that death has came to every family and we know that daeth has no sorrow heaven cannot heal. It is up to us to know that God makes no mistakes and he's well aware of what he's doing. De'Von had a plan and a purpose here on Earth to which he has fulfilled. Yes; there is a time and a place for everything and his was reached. There was a reason why he was in our neighborhood that night when Lj recieved that phone call and there was a reason why everybody is leaving comments saying they just saw him this and that place. He was making his rounds to see and greet everybody before he left this place. I encourage you my friends not to sit around with your head hung low, but with the smile that De'Von always carried. Yes it will be hard as we lay him to rest; we do love him alot but God loves him best......Take your rest De'Von you have already earned your crown....we love and miss you!

I can nott NOT believe this; I am seeing my friend on this screen in this section. Ugh Wow, I am just so upset right now, I'm trying to figure out WHY? Man De'Von and I go back as far as Elementary to High School. Wow and I was Blessed to see him when I was home for Christmas in Wal-Mart. I am so Glad I had a chance to speak with him, But i didn't know it would of been my last. WOW, De'Von you will truly be missed by a host of friends, Family, and colleagues.
