Dawn Bourque Obituary

BOURQUE, Dawn Dawn Renee Bourque, age 39, of Summerville SC died Saturday, February 17th2007 at a local hospital. She was born in Charleston SC on March 10th, 1967, to Lercy Bourque and Rose Mary Baker Bourque. Renee graduated from Summerville High School in 1985. She graduated from Charleston Southern University in 1989 and from Meredith College, Butner NC in 2002. She was a nutritionist and worked part-time as a Clinical Dietician at Summerville Medical Center. Previous places of employment include John Umstead Hospital, Raleigh NC, and Pitt County Memorial in Greenville NC. She was very passionate about her occupation and always encouraged people to live and eat healthy. She was also very conscious of the environment, and loved to cook. Renee was an inspiration to her family and friends as she courageously dealt with her long illness. She always managed a smile. Renee Bourque is survived by her parents: Lercy and Rose Mary Bourque of Summerville SC; brother: Nicholas Bourque (Jennie) of North Charleston SC; sister: Page Campbell (John) of Goose Creek SC; nieces and nephews: Josh Campbell, Dylan Campbell, Calista Bourque, Alyssa Bourque, and Trenton Gibbons; cousin Amity and several other cousins in TX; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 21st 2007 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston SC 29406. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, North Charleston SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 20th 2007 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston SC 29406. The family is accepting flowers, or memorials may be made in Renee Bourque's name to the American Cancer Society, designated for research, 5900 Core Rd., Suite 504, North Charleston SC 29406. I worked with Renee at SMC. She taught some of the classes for us in Cardiac Rehab. She was always SO positive and energetic!!! I was saddened to hear of her loss. She will be greatly missed.
