David Warder Obituary

David Warder CHARLESTON - David Maybank Warder died Sunday, March 23, 2025, at age 19 after a life of giving generously to family and friends. David was born April 26, 2005, in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Frank Reid Warder, Jr. and Amey Parsons Maybank Warder. David loved Charleston, and will always be remembered for his gentle heart, humor, love of others, kindness, skill sets, a mischievous smile, and the joy he brought to all who knew and loved him. David found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life - teaching himself to speak sign language, call turkeys, cook, fly fish, and many things he enjoyed. He was an avid sportsman, treasuring any opportunity to be outdoors. His great passions were hunting and fishing. David perfected his skills over countless peaceful hours in the woods and on the water. David was happiest when sharing his love for the outdoors with his friends and family, both learning from, and teaching, them how to be a true sportsman with a quiet, calm enthusiasm. David most treasured taking his dog, Luce, out to walk around in the woods. David's passion for the outdoors was rivaled only by his boundless love for those closest to him. He approached his role as son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend with a fierce loyalty and love. His greatest joy was sharing moments with his family and friends - hiking alongside his mother, visiting family, enjoying sports with his brothers, and doing weekend work with his father. David touched the lives of all who were blessed to know him. David was raised, baptized, and confirmed, at St. Philip's Church. After performing some on-site volunteer work through St. Philip's, David and his family began attending services at St. John's Chapel, Hanover Street. David enjoyed attending various bible studies and Sunday services at St. John's Chapel, carrying his faith with him in every step of life, always offering kindness, support, and a listening ear. David's spirit was one of strength and compassion, with his faith serving as a guiding light. David is survived by his parents, Frank Reid Warder, Jr. and Amey Parsons Maybank Warder; brothers, Frank Reid Warder, III and Clifton Elder Warder; grandparents, Amey Parsons Lewis, Fulton DeWitt Lewis, Jr., Ann English Maybank, Frank Reid Warder, and Elizabeth Clifton Elder Warder; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. David was preceded in death by his grandfather, David Huguenin Maybank; and his beloved cousin, Richard Holt Hogan II. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Spring Lake Ranch (https://springlakeranch.givecloud.co/give) and/or Quest in Recovery (https://givebutter.com/quest-in-recovery). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service Friday, March 28th, at 11:00 a.m. The service will be held at Live Oak Plantation, located at 4195 Live Oak Avenue, Ravenel, SC 29470. Graveside following at Magnolia Cemetery. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel.
