David "Dwight" Stone MT. PLEASANT - David "Dwight" Stone, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died on Saturday, September 26, 2015. He was born on Thursday, June 12, 1947 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Lois Davis Stone and the late Wilfred Stone. Dwight was a graduate of Florida State University, a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and served in the Army National Guard. He married his college sweetheart Bobbie in 1971. He enjoyed a long career as a sales specialist in the medical field where he forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. Dwight was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church where he and his wife served as Eucharistic Ministers. He loved his family, traveling, college football, golfing, and grilling for family and friends. His family remembers him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Bobbie Stone, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, David Dwight Stone Jr., of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Shannon Michelle Stone, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Ansley Michelle Stevens, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother, Wayne Stone (Ann), of Pismo Beach, CA; sister, Margie Stringer, of Talbotton, GA; sisters-in-law, Susie Stone, of Maitland, FL, Lucy Stone, of Albany, GA, Jackie Johns (Lou), of Miami, FL; brother-in-law, Joe Herko (Carol), of Boca Raton, FL; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Lois and Wilfred Stone, his brother, Fred Stone; mother-in-law, Lillian LaPerche; father-in-law, Ralph LaPerche; sister-in-law, Dolores Herko; and brother-in-law, Pete Stringer. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Benedict's Catholic Church on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM with Father Vincent Maroun officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his honor to St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466.
