Palmer Boland

From Palmer Boland, first cousin to David:

My father, H.F. Boland and David's mother, "Teddy" were brother and sister. Even though I was born in Charleston, my family moved to Orlando, FL when I was 18 months old. I am now 79. Up until the age of 16, when Mother and Dad would go to Charleston for visits, I would go with them. David and I would play some games or just visit. Aunt Teddy would come to Orlando once in a while with David. David and I would go swimming or to movies and we would eat out a lot.

As we both aged, we did not see each other. About 20 years ago, David and I started to communicate on computer. We would talk on the phone occasionally. The last time I saw David was at the Boland Reunion in Little Mountain in 2002 and we both had become older. I believe I met one or two of his daughters. I also had my two daughters with me. The last time we talked on the phone, I knew he was not well and he knew I was not either. My chemo treatment was a success, but I am now on dialysis for the rest of my life due to kidney failure. I am unable to travel but my thoughts are with you.

I know you will miss David and I wish the best for all of you.
