David Martin Obituary

David Martin, Jr. GOOSE CREEK - In loving memory of David Bruce Martin Jr., who peacefully departed this world surrounded by his family and loved ones on September 17, 2023 at the age of 54. David was from Goose Creek, SC and graduated from Stratford High School. His career spanned dedicated service to the State of South Carolina, with tenures at both South Carolina Department of Corrections and The Citadel, where he developed a deep affection for the Cadets he supported in the latter part of his career. Affectionately known as "Big Country," David's warm spirit touched the lives of many. He held a special place in his heart for University of South Carolina Football, his dear friends, and most importantly, his beloved daughter, Lucas Milling Martin. He is survived by his fiance;, Christine Stevens, his loving mother, Jacquelyne Martin, and his adored daughter, Lucas. He is also survived by his siblings Brian Martin (Kathy), Danny Martin (Stephanie), Brad Martin (Jena), John Martin, and Kimberly Vinson. David is predecease by his father, Bruce Martin, and his sister, Keri. A memorial service to honor David's life will be held at McCalister-Smith, located at 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC 29445, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lucas Martin 529 College Savings Plan c/o Janney Montgomery Scott, LLC 1831 W.
