David Kalin Obituary

David Michael Kalin Mt. Pleasant - David Michael Kalin, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Maria Martinez de Leon Kalin, entered into eternal rest Monday, March 28, 2016. His Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Emanu-El Cemetery, Sycamore Avenue, Maryville at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. David was born October 3, 1939 in Helena, Montana, son of the late Abraham Kalin and the late Wilma Cleek Kalin. He was a Captain in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 27 years. Among his various commendations from the U.S. Navy, he received a Bronze Star and was decorated by the former King of Spain, Juan Carlos I, for his dedication and service to the Spanish Military. He later retired from L3 Communications as the Director of Logistics. In addition to his wife of 46 years, Maria, he is survived by his three daughters, Felicia Kalin Oltmann of Mount Pleasant, SC, Kathleen Kalin Tobakos (William) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Sabrina Kalin of Silver Spring, MD; two grandchildren, Sarah Oltmann of Austin, TX and Andrew David Tobakos of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and his brother, John Kalin of Boston, MA.
