I had the pleasure of working for Dave at Steinmart when I first started there! He was a truly caring person under his gruff exterior and I hated it when he had to retire! He took good care of his Boutique Ladies!

I also opened store 43 with David. We became close friends and I will miss him alot. When I was married on Kiawah island only family was invited.. Family and a couple of friends. David was there that night with me. I talked to Dave fairly often, it was my job to continue to drive him crazy...
I will miss him terribly and hope he now can rest in peace... I love ya Dave!

I worked with Dave at the Charleston Stein Mart (#43), in fact we opened that store together. He hired me with a broken foot and when he asked how I broke it, I told him "You don't want to know" and he just laughed and said "Okay". I learned a lot from Dave and have never forgotten him. He is a "one of a kind" man and no one will be able to take his place in this world. My prayers are with his family.
