Hello Margaret: I'm 83 now, and the years are beginning to wear on me. But some of my best moments were with Dave. I will treasure them until I fade away, somewhere beyond the sea. Much love to you. Ed

I am so sorry to hear about Davids passing. I worked with David at the Naval Weapons Station. He always had a smile and he was always making us laugh. He was a devoted family man. He loved his country and his family. I haven't seen David in over 16 years but I can remember like it was yesterday. He always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. He will still be watching over you until you meet again. Your family are in my prayers. Stephanie

I am at a loss for words to this tremendous loss. I have known Hammer for almost 20 years (when I first became a bartender in Goose Creek at Lou's Tavern). In that time I got to know the genuine, respected man that he was. He had an awesome sense of humor and I will never forget that smile and kind word that he had for everyone that crossed paths with him. The pleasure of knowing Hammer was all mine and I will forever keep him in my heart until we meet again. My condolences to his family. He was a wonderful soul!

Julia,
I was so very sorry to learn about David's passing. He was a lot of fun to work with at Patriots Point, but then you knew from working out here too. I always though it was cute to hear you call him "Pops". He was so very proud of you and Dawn. Please pass my condolences to Dawn and your mom.
Love,
Alice

Dear Margaret and family. I am so saddened to learn of Dave's passing. He and I go back almost to the beginning of time. He always let me know that I was 5 months older. We went to school together, we went into the Air Force together, we served in Germany together, we got out together, stood in the unemployment line together, went back in together, and went to technical school together in Denver. And then we lost contact with each other for about 35 years. We reconnected in the mid-1990s. I was glad to learn we were both in Vietnam at about the same time, and that neither of us had lost our taste in good beer, good conversation, and great family life. In our last conversation, just as we were hanging up, he said “I love ya, man.” Me too, Dave. “I love ya, man. And peace, love, and comfort to all of you.

I would like to send my condolences to Ms. Margaret,Dawn,Julia, and his three beautiful and handsome grandchildren.I met Hammer a little over three years ago being one out of four bartenders from Nowhere who had the privilege to meet and also get to know him pretty well.I knew he loved and cherished his wife, daughters, and grandchildren very much.I remember how excited and proud he was when he finally had a grandson.Hammer was a man who loved and cherished every moment with his family.I am very sad to know he is gone, but he will never be forgotten.I will miss his smile, his laughs, and our conversations.Even though his time is up,he will always be watching over his family just how he was when he was here.I can honestly say he is in a better place and is waitng for the day to reunite with his lovely wife.Hammer worked with my stepfather on the Naval Weapon Station years ago and during the time I was his bartender,I had the chance to introduce him to my husband and five children who he also got to know pretty well.Like I said before,I am extremely sad to hear he is gone and he will always be missed not only by me but his family and freinds also.I love you Hammer.
