David Francer Obituary


FRANCER, David David Edward Francer, 90, of Charleston, widower of Mildred Kaplan Francer, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center in Mt. Pleasant. David was born in Boston, MA on Febuary 28, 1918 to the late Harry and Bessie Francer. He lived in Sherman Oaks, CA from 1957 until moving to Charleston in 1993. He was a retired welder from Rocketdyne, a division of North American Aviation and also a travel agent. He traveled extensively and enjoyed telling of his many adventures. He was a WWII Veteran and served in the United States Army. He has been a Mason for 58 years and Past President of the Encino Shrine Club in California. He is also a member of KKBE Temple. He will be deeply missed by his family including two daughters, Janet Patterson and husband Doug of James Island, SC, Barbara Neighbor of Agoura, CA and nine grandchildren: Cheryl, Michael, Derek, Barbara, Scott, John, Sharon, Richard and Billy; eleven great grandchildren: Jessica, Ciara, Halle, Jordan, Cameron, Stephen, Sydney, Melissa, Hunter, Brianna and Scott. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral 1:00PM, Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Levine Funeral Home, 470 Harvard St., Boston, MA with interment to follow in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center, 676 Wando Park Blvd., Mt. Mr. Francer,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
