Holt
Age 94, passed away on October 13, 2017. He was born on May 10, 1923, in Buffalo, NY. Robert grew up in Lansing and was a graduate of Eastern High School and Michigan State University. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marines, serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He moved to Florida where he and Dorothy lived for many years until they moved to Holt in the late 1990s. He was an employee of the federal government retiring after many years of service. Robert enjoyed playing golf and he and Dorothy travelled extensively throughout the years together.
Robert is survived by: cousin, Larry (Eleanor) Peck; brother-in-law, Leroy Brower; nieces, Becky (Kevin) Oesterle, Laurie (Robert) Siegrist, Shirley (Todd) Taylor, Patty Dixon, Christy (Andrew) Zebolsky, and Tracey Brower; special friend, Kathleen Devlin; as well as many other dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and a sister, Marjorie.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel. His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Disabled American Veterans in memory of Robert Walter.
