David Clements Obituary

David Harold Clements FT. MYERS, FL - David Harold Clements passed away peacefully on July 7, 2015 at his home in Ft. Myers, Florida after a long battle with lung disease. David was born on December 17, 1951 in Pickens, SC to Harold and Louise Clements. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant, SC, graduated from General William Moultrie High School, and attended Furman University and the College of Charleston. David worked in the hotel industry on the Isle of Palms until Hurricane Hugo hit the South Carolina coast. He later moved to Ft. Myers where he worked in the hotel industry on Sanibel and then Captiva Island until 2014. David had a thoughtful, compassionate manner, a quick wit and a keen sense of humor. He is dearly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his sisters Carole (Chuck) Davis and Amy (Thomas) Baskerville, brothers Jeff Clements and Chris (Connie) Clements, nieces Gracie Baskerville and Alison (Stuart) Burnette, nephews Camden and Stephen Clements, and a host of extended family. There will be an informal gathering to share memories and celebrate David's life on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.at the home of a family member, 1662 Oak Island Drive, Charleston SC 29412. I want to pass on my condolences to David's entire family. I am heart broken to hear of David's passing. He was one of the sweetest, loving and sensitive men I have ever known. He was my first true love... I will always have sweet memories of my time with David and pray he is at peace now.
