David Eugene Callahan, Sr. JAMES ISLAND - David Eugene Callahan, Sr., 65, of James Island, South Carolina, entered into eternal life Saturday, January 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife, children and siblings. David was born on June 21, 1957, in Fayetteville NC, to Shirley Ann McGuire (Johnny Williamson) and James Callahan. He was a proud veteran the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer and engineer from 1976 to 1993. He then became a firefighter and EMT at the James Island Fire Department. He also worked as an Outside operator for Foster Wheeler. He enjoyed his remaining years working at the MUSC facilities department where he retired in 2019. He is survived by his wife: Barbara Callahan; a daughter: Heather Callahan; a son: David Callahan Jr.; and grandson, Hunter Pritchard; siblings, Gayle Clodfelter (Fred) of MI, Terry Callahan (Carol) of RI, John D. Williamson (Carol) of SC, and Rebecca Smith (Thomas) of SC. David is also survived by a large extended family of stepchildren, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
