David Broughton Obituary

David Broughton RAVENEL, SC - Mr. David Broughton, 81, of Ravenel, SC, affectionately known as Dave, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 30, 2025. He was a US Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline VanDyke Broughton. Dave was born on June 1, 1946 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Benjamin "Rufus" Broughton and Bedell Scott Broughton. He is also survived by his children, Derrick Ancrum, Celeste Scott (Jeffery), and David Broughton, II (Twanesa); siblings, Emma Taylor (Fred), Benjamin White (Dr. Patrice), and Deborah White; and a host of other relatives and friends. The Home-Going Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church, 4345 Davison Road, Ravenel, SC. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 2915 Ashley Phosphate Road, North Charleston, SC. The viewing will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Murray's Mortuary - North Charleston Chapel, 4060 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC and on Friday, April 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
