David Blyth Obituary

David Anthony Blyth Charleston - David Anthony Blyth died on September 17, 2021 at the age of 64 of natural causes. We will miss him dearly as he was a loving part of our family. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM, Friday, September 24, 2021 at Nativity Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. David was born in Charleston, SC on November 29, 1956, a son of Thomas James Blyth and Ruby Ackerman Blyth. He graduated from Bishop England High School and attended the College of Charleston. David spent most of his adult life self-employed, often as a maintenance mechanic. He spent many years managing the apartment complex where he lived. David was very capable of fixing and repairing anything. He was always willing and happy to help family and friends. In his spare time, he loved salt-water fishing and caring for animals. He is survived by two brothers, Steve Blyth (Gayle) and Denis Blyth (Marsha); two sisters, Leslie McDermott (Gene) and Catherine Lauzon (Gil) and a sister-in-law, Rae Ann. David had many cousins, nieces and nephews and he was beloved by all of them. David was predeceased by his brother, Thomas J. Blyth, Jr. Arrangements by JAMES A. MCALISTER, Inc. (843)766-1365. I did not see this until week of Jan. 23rd. I knew David via FB on his posts on Stolen Property in S.C. and know how much he did to help reunite lost/found pets and his love for animals. I made a donation in his memory to All 4 Paws, Pawleys Island rescue. God bless all of you who remember him and loved him. Though I never met him, always felt a connection. He will be missed. I would have known sooner not on FB for almost 5 months while my husband recovered from covid complications. This has been a tough year for many and I truly pray for all as we go forward.

Sorry to learn of David's passing. He was the first kid I met in first grade. Grew up going to St John's, played Dixie Youth baseball and basketball at BE. I was there during the karate period when he was pounding his knuckles flat. Rest in peace my friend and may your memory be eternal.

Larry and I considered David a good friend. Larry always enjoyed playing pool with David and I always enjoyed talking to him about his cats! He will be greatly missed! God bless you all, Janice and Larry Odom
