Dave and I were junior tennis competitors at the provincial and national levels during the 1960s. He beat me in the finals of the Ontario Open Junior Tennis Championships at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club in the summer of 1966. I didn't see Dave after our junior years and was deeply saddened to learn of his passing (as were many other players who remember Dave very well). I hope this message gets through to the Berryman family. Best wishes.

I first met Dave when he was the all star quarterback of the Nelson Lords High School team.. He asked me to teach him how to punt a football. Within one hour he was outkicking me. What a natural athlete. Tim, your loss is felt in Burlington.

I have just heard of Dave's passing. What sad news.
Dave was such a good friend and mentor to a young man from Canada leaning the ways of young adulthood.
His tutelage on and off the tennis courts was immeasurable. He was always there to lend a hand and to offer counsel.
Such a loss for the Charleston and community.
Such a loss the his family; Bonnie, Will and all his family are in my prayers

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my sons Dad, Dave. He was a fine man and father, and will be missed by many. He had a tremendous impact on our community as he shared his love for the game of tennis (golf, football, baseball, and hockey too). I will always cherish the memories. Dave has left behind an outstanding son who proudly carries his name as David William Berryman, Junior.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dave and his family. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to meet and work with Dave as an off-ice official with the SC Stingrays hockey team. He is a great person and he had an amazingly positive effect on people who knew him. Sincerely, Scott Poaps

To the Berryman family,

While I did not know Dave for very long, we certainly enjoyed a dozen or more rounds of golf at Oxmoor Country Club in Louisville. It was always pure enjoyment, even though he usually won most of the bets.

So very sorry for your loss.
