There will never be another doctor or friend or dad that I respect as much as David. He and I were friends close to 25 and talked daily for many of those . I will remember always ; either laughing crying or just praying God holds him in heaven and that David realizes all the people he helped in his life. Thank you lord for David he made the world a better place for many.

This message is for Joe, Ben and Katie specifically. I did not learn of your father's passing until late the morning of his memorial service when a friend of mine called me. I lost touch with the three of you when your dad agreed to take on my aged mother as a patient. I thought he felt I probably would not be available to stay with you on the mornings when he was on weekend call. I would drop in to his Mt. Pleasant office when I had occasion to be in the building for some reason. I would check with his receptionist and leave a message; I inquired re: the banner on the door with the "star" and I was told it was there because Ben was in the US Army and was soon to return from Korea. I will always remember how well your dad cared for my mother and how he was respectful in calling her by name and directing questions to her specifically (not to her children). He kept her out of the hospital for over a year (a monumental feat). I keep you three in my prayers; I know your father is at peace so my concern is mainly for you. David was my physician when I first came to Charleton 20yrs ago. He became a friend as well. He was of the kindest most compassionate people I have ever met. His drive to help not just as a physician led to my finding my still current job 17 yrs. I know he will be so missed by his family, friends and co workers and all those he touched. God Bless.

In shock.. What a special person and wonderful caring doctor! I'm heartbroken for the children whom I heard so much about, for the rest of his family, for his beloved dogs who lost a great master, and Lindsay and Amy, who were such a great complement to his practice and whom I could tell were his family as well. God bless all of you! I will miss him and our visits! RIP Dr. Apple

Dr. Apple took on my parents as patients when he assumed Dr. Cline's practice years ago. He was a patient, kind man and was always there for my dad and a great support to my mom when my dad became sick. He would always call my dad to fix his lawn mowers and they had a sweet patient/dr friendship. My family and I are so sorry for your loss. The family of the late Reggie and Frances Owens.

David was my mom's (and my) Doctor for many years. He was so caring to my mom, and she really "loved" her some Dr. David Apple. Since his practice changed course over the past few years, I did not see him frequently, but, will always remember his kind, caring demeanor, and easy going personality. Its so true, only the good die young.....gods speed Dave.......

September 2, 2012

My wife Bettye and I have not lost our trusted family doctor for over 30 years, and we have lost a cherished and trusted friend and confidant. His professionalism saved my life over 20 years ago. He was loved and admired our children and grandchildren. We never met his children but David shared many stories about them all through school. Recently, David joked about having to split his loyalty between Carolina and Clemson and expressed his fear and pride about his son going into the military. Bettye and I want to send our love and condolences to David's children and his family and friends. We have lost a rare friend.
