Joe, I just received an e-mail from Tom about Darla's death. I am so very, very sorry to hear of that; I know how much it meant to you and your family to have been able to be back in the Charleston area, and am so glad you and Darla were able to do that. You and your family will be in my prayers as you go through these sad days of loss. I never had the privilege of meeting Darla, but in reading the messages that others have posted, that was my loss; she obviously was a wonderful person. Gail Birdsong

Joe:

I was fortunately to meet Darla at Lisa's party. My wife and I immediately realized how lovely she was. You took care of her in an inspiring way, a love story to remember. She is in a better place now. May God's reachest comforts be with you in the days ahead.

Dear Joe and Sherry,
I am so sorry to read of Darla's death. I loved her! She was so funny, so special to me "back in the day" in Summerville. Some of my sweetest memories of Darla were when you (Sherry) and she were so involved with the foster parenting association. That was the year I was blessed to be asked to give and to take part in a little girl receiving my anonymous Christmas gifts. WHAT A GIFT THAT WAS FOR ME!! That is among my most blessed Christmas memories, and I share the story often.
Summerville Football!! Darla knew the call even before the referee.:)Just another of MANY special memories of Darla.

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HER.
