To the Simmons Family, words cannot express the shock and disbelief I felt when I found out Dan was attending Bible Study at Mother Emmanuel on that fateful night. I worked with Dan for a period at DVA and will always remember his kindness and smiles. I always remember speaking with him about a problem I was having getting some documents sent to me and he said "Don't worry, let me see what I can do." By the end of that day, I had the documents in my hands. Will always remember Dan. Be strong and may God's Mercy always be with each of you.

I would have never believed Dan's life would have ended like this. I worked with Dan at the DVA and he seemed to always have a smile on his face. It is so comforting to know Dan was among the nine wonderful Christians who went to heaven. What a legacy he left. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
