Daniel Simmons Obituary

My foundest memory of Rev. Simmons is when he taught in the Board of Examiner classes he was radical but it was full of truth I will always remember him as mentor and teacher

Dr. Daniel Simmons was my personal friend while I served in the A.M.E. Church as a Pastor. I met him through the late Dr. G.L. Champion, Sr. Dr. Simmons was a Scholar and a
Gentleman. Servant of God Well Done!

Daniel and the Simmon's Family you are all in my prayers.

I pray continually for all the families. May you receive peace and comfort from God and the loving people in our country. We are all praying.

Such a pleasant and fun gentleman who will be missed. How shocked at the learning of how you left us, but you are now resting peacefully. Thank you for all of the opportunities and people you introduced me to.

What a wonderful life....all day yesterday I wondered if I could be ready to meet the Lord as this man did. He is surely with the Lord and I will never forget his and the others sacrifice.

We rode up and down the highways together going to many AME Church meetings. He and I talked almost every day, we were the best of friends. he was my buddy!!! Rest well Dan! You will be missed! To the Simmons Family, words cannot express the shock and disbelief I felt when I found out Dan was attending Bible Study at Mother Emmanuel on that fateful night. I worked with Dan for a period at DVA and will always remember his kindness and smiles. I always remember speaking with him about a problem I was having getting some documents sent to me and he said "Don't worry, let me see what I can do." By the end of that day, I had the documents in my hands. Will always remember Dan. Be strong and may God's Mercy always be with each of you.

I would have never believed Dan's life would have ended like this. I worked with Dan at the DVA and he seemed to always have a smile on his face. It is so comforting to know Dan was among the nine wonderful Christians who went to heaven. What a legacy he left. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
