Daniel Rohling Obituary

Daniel Raymond Rohling N. CHARLESTON - Daniel Raymond Rohling, 76, of North Charleston, SC, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014. His Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, 2119 Dorchester Road at 11:00 a.m. Interment following with military honors will be in Riverview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Dan was born August 11, 1937 in Nashville, TN, son of the late Raymond John Rohling and the late Lucille Spangler Rohling. He graduated from Bishop England High School and was a standout athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball. During his senior year in high school, Bishop England won the state championship in all three sports. Following high school, he served in the US Army and the US Air Force. Dan retired as a civil servant from the Charleston Air Force Base. He is survived by sister, Madge Taylor Veitch (Robert) of Hanahan, SC; brothers, Martin Guy Rohling (Sue) of Washington, DC and Carl Jerome Rohling (Annette) of Charleston, SC; nephews, Dale Taylor of Summerville, SC and Mark Taylor of Rutherfordton, NC. Dan was predeceased by a nephew, Kenneth Rohling. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Catholic Church, 3921 St. John Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405. Sorry to hear of Dan´s passing. I seen this a few years ago, but didn´t reply. Nobody will see it anyway, I hope someone does and maybe respond back to me would be nice. Dan and I were Stationed at RAF South Ruislip from 65-67 and what a Great Time we had. Always had two things, a Great Story and coffee in hand every minute. Have always missed his presence.

Dear Madge, Guy, and Carl. I' m very sorry to hear that Dan has passed away. He was a good neighbor and sports fan and he always had a big smile and warm greeting waiting for you. Reddin Road will never be the same without Dan the Man.
